Problem with Local policy: Manage Auditing and Security Log -- Windows Server 2003

Hi,
Is there any way to allow Security Log acces even if I remove all groups in the Local policy "Manage Auditing and Security Log".
I'd like to hide the Auditing Tab but I still want to access the Security Log.

If I remove the Administrators group from that policy, the Security Log is unaccessible as well as Auditing.
I'd like to prevent anyone to access the Auditing Tab but I still want to acces the Security Log.
Thanks for your help!!

Hi,
Thank you for the post.
If you remove all groups in the Local policy "Manage Auditing and Security Log", a member of local administrators group also could access security logs.

If you don't want to granted user local administrators permission, you need to change the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Security\CustomSD key value. For instance, copy the Application\CustomSD value to Security\CustomSD
value.
