Problem with Internet from server
I have 2 Win 2008 Standard VM installed on a Hyper-V Server 2008 MAchine.
Both Win 2008 Standard servers cannot accces the internet for some reason. The network connections keeps saying as Local Access Only.
The Servers are with Fixed IP and behind a router.
The old server (win 2003) is behind the same router but can access internet without problems.
Please help...

How have you configured the virtual networking? Are the vms connected to an external virtual network? Can they ping the gateway router?

As Bill has already said make sure that VM are connected to external NIC.
If they are then please update the drivers for the NIC.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for posing here.
So what are the network setting entries of both VMs ? could your post the “ ipconfig /all “results from VMs here?
Meanwhile, have you also set any outbound filter for the internal interface of your internet gateway device ?
Is there also any problem to access other internal hosts form VMs?
