Problem trying to export DHCP setting from a server running 2003 on a domain using netsh
I have a server that is running 2003 as my DHCP server. I would like to export the settings to a server running 2008. When I run netsh, I get the access denied message, because I am not a local admin. The problem for me is that as far as I can tell, I can't access or create a local account on a 2003 server that is a domain controller. My options seem to be doing it manually, or taking the server off the domain, which seems drastic. Is there something I'm missing?

I manually transferred the data - this isn't critical anymore.

Hi, Thank you for the post. You should use an account that is a member of the local Administrators group or the DHCP Administrators group to migrate DHCP server: http://blogs.technet.com/b/teamdhcp/archive/2009/02/18/migration-of-dhcp-server-from-windows-server-2003-to-windows-server-2008.aspx Regards,Nick Gu - MSFT
