Problem changing Administrator Password
Hi,I'm from Argentina. I want to change my Administrator Password on a Web Server that I access with Remote Connection.I press CTRL + ALT + END and then click on "Change Password".... On the new window I type Old + New Password but Windows Server 2003 says on a new window "The system cannot change your password now because the domain (my IP) is not available".Any ideas??Thanks!

Hello,
To narrow down the issue and try fixing the problem, please do the following steps:
1. Please check whether you have installed the latest Service Packs for your OS.
2. Please check whether the problem occurs if you change the password locally.
3. Is there forest trust in your environment, such as Domain A and Domain B with two way forest trust?
4. Does the server belong to domain A and the problem happens when the server tries to change the password of Domain B user?
5. What are domain function level of the Domain A and Domain B?
6. If the server is a Windows 2000-baesd computer, please refer to the following KB article to obtain a HOTFIX from Microsoft.
KB 896081: Error message when you try to change your password on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer:
"The system cannot change your password now because the domain is not available"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;896081
Meanwhile, please try the following suggestions:
Suggestion 1=========According to my research, the error message may occur if the account has been lockout. On a domain controller of corresponding domain, lets check if the account is locked out and has the "User must change password at next logon" attribute set. If this is situation, Please unlock the user account and uncheck "User must change password at next logon" attribute, try to reset the user password to see if the problem is resolved. The detail check point as below, please check below setting of the user account in the Active Directory users and computers settings Suggestion 2=========Please check if there is WINS server setting on the server with problem. At here please make sure the WINS server working properly in your domain environment. If there is no WINS server existing in your domain, a workaround is to use the users UPN (username@usersuffix, eg. Hsbc) name instead of account name to change the password.
I hope this helps.

Apparently you are able to login to the server, so you have network connection. I would start by checking the connection from the Web Server to the DC for it's domain. Perhaps you only succeed in logging in with cached credentials?
