Problem accessing SMB share on Server 2008
A BCM400 is really old. My first guess is that it use LM hash.
Enable that protocol in your 2008 to enable the share access. In a GPO's console. Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
Just be sure, that if it's now disable by default, it's not for nothing, it imply a security's hole to lower that setting.

This may be because a compatibility issue. Please ask your vendor technical support for assistance.
Maybe the solution requires LM authentication as mentioned by Yagmoth555 however this is highly not recommended for security reasons.
I would recommend upgrading your solution to a new one so that you will avoid such issues and you will not be forced to downgrade your authentication security level.

I am having a problem performing a backup from a Nortel BCM 400 to a folder share on a 2008 server. I am using a local server account with adminsitrator access. This backup works without any problems to a 2003 server share setup the
same way. When I run the Nortel backup to the share on the 2008 server the backup fails with an Samba Transfer Failure error, and if I try this backup 3 times the local account gets locked out. There is something different that is preventing the
backup to the 2008 server. Both the 2003 and 2008 server share is setup the same, and so is the local server account. Your help is appreciated?
