Just setup a basic Active Directory domain and then create users in the domain. You can use logon script to connect the printer when every user will log onto the domain. Alternatively, domain users should be able the printer on the server manually and then it will stay in their environments. Users will connect to the printer with normal users' privilege instead of the server administrator. SJJ123

With only 1 server and 5 clients and given the fact that you admittedly aren't famliar with Windows Server, creating an Active Directory environment just so that you can print is overkill and is not your best solution. Deploying printers with Group Policy as suggested by Miles is also not going to work for you since it assumes an AD environment to begin with. The easiest solution, given your current environment is as follows:1. On the server, create user accounts whose usernames and passwords match the usernames and passwords of the users logging on to the clients.2. Create a group on the server for printing purposes.3. Add the user accounts created in step 1 to the group created in step 2.4. Share the printer.5. Give the group greated in step 2 permissions to use the shared printer.6. On the clients, connect to the shared printer.Problem solved.Paul Adare CTO IdentIT Inc. ILM MVP
