Print Management-Printer Deployment Question
Currently have configured Print and Document Services-Print Server role at one of our network servers to support a forthcoming printer "refresh". Existing printers are configured for direct IP/print driver install/configuration at client. As we proceed with the printer refresh we will be relying on the printer server. My question-what is the best practice for the removal of printer drivers related to printers to be replaced and the install of the new printers? We have approximately 50 clients (XP/Win7) involved in the project. I look forward to the community's advice and feedback!

Well there are two methods I like to refer to. One would be to use the print management console if those printers are going to come in one at a time. Second method would be a script if you have a complete list of what needs to be removed and what needs to be added as that will accomplish the task much quicker. The link below should help you with getting started on a script to remove the printers you need with plenty of examples. Please post back if you have more questions. http://www.robvanderwoude.com/2kprintcontrol.phpBe kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.
