Prevent save password?
HelloAnyone know if it is possible to disable the save password option on Windows? Every time your access something requiring authentication, and you SSO creds do not cut it, Windows will pop up the username password box. At the bottom of that box there is a "save password" box. I want to get rid of that box. The users should be able to log on using alternate credentials, but those credentials should not be stored. Thanks!Morgan

Thank you.I am aware of that article. Unfortunately it only pertains to Internet Explorer, and it seems only versions up to IE6. I need to do this for Windows in general.Morgan

Hi, Thank you for posting here. According to your description, I understand that: You would like to prevent save password for users using Group Policy. If I have misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know. You can enable the following Group Policy to disable caching password. [Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network access: Do not allow storage of credentials or .NET Passports for network authentication] Refer to the following article if you need to disable Dial-Up Networking password caching. Mervyn,
Do you have an updated method for IE 8 and IE 9 to diable saving passwords? I have posted this question on the Server GPO forums.
