Power View Error:An error occurred while loading the model for the item or data source"https://abcd.abcd.com/sites /BI/ppg/QA-SSAS-Ex".Verify that the connection information is correct and that you have permissions to access the data source.

Hi All,

I have SharePoint 2013, SQL Server 2012 SP1, SSRS on SharePoint Mode and PowerPivot add-in.

I am facing the issue with Power View when "PowerView" icon is clicked.

I followed some of the instruction in the forum but still the problem is at large.

1. The C2WTS Windows service and C2WTS SharePoint service are both running

2. Checked the SQL Server Browser service is running on the machine that has the PowerPivot instance of SSAS.

3. I have Claims Based Authentication on my farm.

Error code is as given below though it remain the same.

Appreciate any help to fix the issue..

Hi Milan,

Thanks for the reply.

I checked the link and I would not like to change the deployment mode from Multidimensional as we need multidimensional.

With the same configuration(Deploymentmode-Multidimensional) it is working fine on my DEV environment.

Not able to figure out what is wrong in QA Environment, not allowing it to work ASIS as DEV.

Thanks

Sakti

Hi Qiuyun,

Thanks for the response.

I am not facing this issue in my DEV Farm and everything is ASIS in QA. But PowerView is throwing this error.

Appreciate your help if you can please expedite to fix this issue.

Sakti

Hi Sakti,

Based on my research, most common cause of this issue could be the following:

1. Permissions are not set properly.

2. Authentications are not set properly.

3. The PowerPivot instance hasn't been configured correctly.

Since you don't have issues in your DEV farm, you might have misconfigure one or more of those configurations in your QA farm.
