PowerBuilder 9.0.2 Build 7661 compatibility with Windows 2008 Server (Standard Edition)
Hi,I would like to ask about the compatibility of Power Builder 9.0.2 Build 7661 with Windows 2008 Server(Standard Edition). I have gone through different forums including Sybase sites and come to know that Power Builder 11.5 is compatible with Windows 2008 Server whereas Power Builder 9.0 is not compatible. But if I installed a demo version of Power Builder 9.0 on Windows 2008 Server, it successfully install. I want to know the word 'compatibility' is normally used in what contest or at what kind of problem we may face(after PowerBuilder 9.0successfully installed). If we do not follow PowerBuilder 11.0 version and wants only PowerBuilder 9.0, so is it safe to use or else your input is required. Please comment to guide and resolve my query. Saqib Khan

Hi, As you mentioned you have contacted Sybase for the compatibility of PowerBuilder 9.0.2, so the answer from Sybase is official and authentic. But if I installed a demo version of Power Builder 9.0 on Windows 2008 Server, it successfully install. >> You can install it successfully doesn’t mean that it will running properly, you may encounter some unexpected issue. If you run PowerBuilder 9.0.2 on Windows Server 2008 and you have some issue, I don’t think Sybase will provide support if they announced that PowerBuilder 9.0.2 is not compatible with Windows Server 2008. As PowerBuilder is a third-party application, I recommend that you contact them for more details. Thanks for your understanding. Best Regards, Vincent Hu
