Unfortunately you have not given any data on the operating system and the connection parameters for local management and remote server.. The following is usable for some server operating systems:
1. This utility is described in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/232243 It is for NT 4 and higher. This is local command line utility and you should use any tool
that can do it remotely and send or save the result (map and save or mail the message)
2. There are alternative ways, how to solve the problem (article includes uptime.exe) http://www.petri.co.il/check-uptime-in-server-2008.htm
3. You can set event trigger for uptime event and send the information by mail (free blat is perhaps the simplest)
4. You can use remote session function that Sysinternals offer.
5. VPN and RDP are another alternative, how to reach the required data/functionality.
