Port Reporter (portrptr.exe) to work on Windows 2008 or an alternative?
Has anyone gotten Microsoft's Port Reporter tool (portrptr.exe) to work on Windows 2008 Server? I know this version of Windows is not among the program's requirements. I was able to install it using the Windows Server 2003 compatibility mode but it won't run, even using compatibility mode. Or is there an alternative that does the same thing as Port Reporter that will run on Windows Server 2008? Thanks.

Have you tried TCPView for Windows? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897437.aspx Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Thanks. I have used TCPView. I need something that will write a log of the ports and the source program using the ports over several hours/days, and I don't think TCPView will do that.
