Please wait for the Local Session Manager

I have a Windows Server 2012 R2 server running in HyperV.  After a reboot, it will not boot all the way up to the login screen.  It gets stuck on "Please wait for the local session manager" and never gets any further.  The server has very little configuration, it only has one application installed on it. I really do not want to have to rebuild this server.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

As a note, I disconnected the Network Adapter on the virtual server and I am still getting the same results.

Hi MOHeinz,

Does this vm is migrated from the previous edition of Hyper-V server? If yes please update Hyper V Integration then monitor the issue again, and same time if you are using the following KB mentioned edition server please install this KB.

The related KB:

An enterprise hotfix rollup is available for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2775511

Im glad to be of help to you!

Thanks for the reply.  However, since I cannot login I cannot update the Hyper V Integration.  Any other way to do this?  This is a 2012 R2 server so that update will not apply.
