Hello, if i understand you correct, you loose connectivity to a shared folder, so let's start with DNS configuration, please post an unedited ipconfig /all from a problem client and the server in question. BTW, here are also some women answering.:-)Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello, Sometimes, it could be happening that the NIC and the Switch don't agree on the speed to communicate. Normally they are left to "Automatic Speed", so the switch and the NIC follow a connection protocol to set the speed of the port. Or maybe a physical failure producing intermittent connections. Please, do this tests, 1. go to the server's NIC and set the connection speed to the lowest speed supported by the NIC and the Switch, it could be 10 MBps. It if works and you find a stable connection, look at the switch compatibility for NICs. You'll have to Disable-Enable the NIC on the OS to reload the Comm Stack. 2. Change the NIC with a compatible NIC from your switch's manufacturer. 3. Verify the certification of the connection from the server to the switch, it could be that the cable got damaged or stressed in any point beyond your control or the RJ-45 connector got damaged (this could be tested with a temporary certified patch cord). 4. Put a middle-man switch: Take a general brand switch and put it betwwen your switch and the server. Please post back the results Alfredo Arizaleta As: "Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. "Just begining

Hi , There is a thin line selecting Maximum connections. In windows ( SMB Protocol ) there is no limitation to access the share, but windows has provided a way to restrict using the CAL , so Maximum connections are related to the CAL.

Hello, your connection problem belongs to the DNS server ip addresses 83.170.1.240 and 83.170.1.241, as these are external ones and your clients will communicate internal with the 10.x.x.x address. Some DNS request will be send to the internet DNS servers and then the connection problems starts. So use internal a DNS server that has also the 10.x.x.x ip range and configure FORWARDERS on the DNS server properties in the DNS management console.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

Hello, the connection problem results in the public DNS servers on the NIC settings as said before, if the machines try to connect to the share on the server they qill query with the DNS servers from your ISP, which of course didn't know your server. I suggest to remove the DHCP/DNS from the router and install it on the server, then configure a FORWARDER in the DNS server properties in the DNS management console to the ISPs DNS server. Also set a fixed ip address on the server instead the DHCP assigned one.Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
