Photo managment - Desktop Experience
I want to have photo management enabled on server 2008 as i have users accessing outlook through TS and when they try to open attached picture the get the error that photo management must be enabled. The issue is i dont want to install the "Desktop Experience" i don't want windows defender or any of the other things that come with it just the photo management so we can open pictures while connecting through TS. I have determined if i save the picture i can then open it but i would like the ability to open the picture by double clicking it in outlook. I installed irfanview to test and it fixed the problem but we don't want to pay for anything to fix this. We have office picture viewer but i cant figure out how to make outlook open pictures through that app for everyone connecting to the server. Systems Administrator

So after hours of searching i ended up installing desktop experience. Dear Microsoft, If you are going to keep this feature i suggest making it an expandable option so we can select only the options we want to install from this feature. ThanksSystems Administrator

Hi Sean, I completely understand that it would be better if we can select options when we install desktop user experience. I will forward your suggestions to our product team. Hopefully this feature can be included soon. This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
