Performance counter alert
I am trying to test the performance counter alert to warn me when logical disk space of C: drops below 30%I created a Data collection Set with selecting Performance Counter Alert.Added the appropriate counter (%Free Space) on C:, configured Alert when "Below" "30"Then I set the "Alert Task" to run C:\Windows\system32\msg.exe with an argument "Administrator disk space is low" (without quote)Also I check the event log option.then I create a large file with fsutil which definitely make C: free space drops below 30%but I have non warning message nor the event log in event viewerare there any steps i missed or I got it totally wrong? Please help meThank youRegardsAndrew Chan MCSE MCITP:EA CCNP

I was asked to re-post this same question here as I am not testing on Server 2008 R2 yet. I am having the same issue as above with Server 2008 Standard (tested on both SP1 and SP2). I do not receive any notifications in the application event log. Any ideas? The same method works on Server 2003 R2.
