What's taking up the space? Going after windows update is only going to delay the problem. Maybe uninstall those applications from C:\Program Files and reinstall them to D:\Program Files Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

you mean windows update will not take a lot of space? Basically, I still have to verify what's taking up the space, got few software application installed on the server.. is 30GB enough for Windows 2008 as C drive? assuming there won't be a lot of application that will be installed...

You may be able to use the shrink / extend methods described here.http://www.petri.co.il/shrinking-a-partition-in-windows-vista-or-server-2008.htmhttp://www.petri.co.il/extend-disk-partition-vista-windows-server-2008.htmhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/325590Regards, Dave Patrick .... Your %windir% is in C:, SOME updates has to go to respective parent location. You have to agree with that; because its not a new installation, its an UPDATE. To me the best solution is use partition magic and increase your C: with some extra gig.
