PPTP VPN Termination problem
Hi,
I have a Windows 2012 server which I am trying to set up as a termination point for our PPTP connections. So far I have set up Routing and remote Access and then NPS but I am having some issues connecting in.
The errors I am getting are:
CoId={67316B38-5333-46E0-9971-24087724CE2D}: The user [username] connected from [internal address] but failed an authentication attempt due to the following reason: The connection was prevented because of a policy configured on your RAS/VPN server. Specifically,
the authentication method used by the server to verify your username and password may not match the authentication method configured in your connection profile. Please contact the Administrator of the RAS server and notify them of this error.
I am using MS-CHAP and MS-CHAP-v2 as my authenication method on both the server and the client but I still get the same issues.
We are not using any health or remediation settings just the PPTP policy part.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hi alamb200,
Firstly, would you please help to verify the configurations by referring to
Configure a Remote Access Network Policy.
In addition, we can refer to the following similar threads:

Hi Jeremy,
I set up the network connection as per the first link but I still had the same issue.
We are not using Machine accounts to authenticate just a remote access group.
I am trying to connect using a pptp connection over the internal network from a Domain joined Windows 8 PC.
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
