PDC-Windows 2000 crash
We had a PDC server that crashed. It was the primary DC in a 2 tree forest. The Exchange server was the other DC in the forest. I need to bring up a new installation with the same DC name and establish a Trust Relationship with the Exchange Server. However the Enterprise Admins died with the PDC that crashed. I have tried to use the Metadata cleanup to remove the old DC from the Active Directory but do not have sufficent access rights. I cannot login as the Enterprise Admin to correct this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hello, first of all running Exchange on a DC is not recommanded. Is the remaining DC a GC? Any backup of the old PDC? For Exchange questions, post in Exchange forums. Hello, i can not really follow your description, as you are talking about 2 DCs and 2 trees in a forest. So you have domain.com and domain1.com for example and each tree has one DC or two? Please provide a detailed overview with the amount of DCs and OS versions, incl. SP/patch level, and how they are connected. Do you have any kind of backup from the problem DC?Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.
