There was another thread regarding a problem that sounds identical this that was affecting Vista SP1 (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistasp/thread/164871b2-46b3-4866-830f-9bf392dc5ad1/)and this KB was released: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952709 We are seeing this same problem running a TS farm with 3 Server 2008 Enterprise boxes. 1 in particular has the issue more frequently, I have seen it for Outlook, Access and Powerpoint. Suddenly, an office app will stop working giving "is not a valid win32 application" error when trying to start it. A reboot resolves the issue, but with 20 + people using the server it is a pain to have to reboot it. I have installed all 'Reliability and compatibility' updates for Windows Server 2008 available in Windows Updates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Jason

The original thread where Microsoft ended up creating a KB article was for Vista/Server 08 services packs, not the Office newsgroups. I will post there but don't think this should be written off as not pertaining to Server 2008. Jason

Jason,Did you ever get this resolved? I'm seeing the same problem with a variety of apps and it does sound just like the problem described for Vista in KB952709. Amazing that they just pushed you off to another group with such clear information pointing to an OS issue.Rob
