No default gateway NIC
Both servers A and B installed 2x NIC. Both ip address set same subnet in same server Server A NIC A - configure default gateway (10.10.10.1 , gateway 10.10.10.254) NIC B - no default gateway (10.10.10.2) Server B ip address (192.168.1.1) NIC A - configure default gateway (192.168.1.1 , gateway 192.168.1.254) NIC B - no default gateway (192.168.1.2) Already route add (192.168.1.1 mask 255.255.255.255 10.10.10.254 metric 10 if 2) delegate IP address (the Ip address set in server B) for NIC - B. So that server B can ping server A's NIC-B ip address. How can I configure the network traffic Server A NIC - B only communicate Server B NIC - B ? Other traffic will use NIC A. Thx !!

IMHO: I am afraid that this will not work. Unless network cards on single server work in f.any special mode, you could not have these cards on the same subnet. Communication is not determined in server itself. Regards Milos

How do you expect these two servers to communicate? Where are they located in relation to each other? How are their networks connected? Bill

I expect both server can communicate with specific port, let say netstat -a will show NIC - B in Server A (ip address) can connect 1322 port with NIC - B in Server B (ip address)

Two machines which are in different IP subnets cannot communicate unless there is an IP router between them. Adding static routes will not change that. If these machines are in fact in a routed network, what exactly are you trying to achieve with this odd setup? Bill

Hi Sam_33, Thanks for posing here. May I know if we have to set the NIC B on both server in same IP segment as what NIC A has like you descripted ? We’d suggest to set IP address from different IP segments for each interface on a multihomed server which will help us to control the traffic more easier: Expected Behavior of Multiple Adapters on Same Network http://support.microsoft.com/kb/175767/ Thanks.
