Hi everyone

Right now we are using relational database SQL Sever 2008 for our needs. We eventually want to move to NOSQL database. I have been asked to look into NOSQL Azure data platform. I need help in getting started. Are there any examples online that I can follow, to actually do them and learn.

I am not even sure which forum under Microsoft azure it should go, is Azure storage? Database?

Would appreciate any constructive feedback on this

Thanks Joseph for your help with this.

One more question I have for you is, is NoSQL database primarily used for inserting data to be read only using select statements or once its in database, we can do complex computations too on it, like use that data to do analysis and stuff. Or Nosql is only for reading purposes.

The situation I have is, I have to insert data, compute new data through it using complex computations and insert the results again, is that something that is doable in DocumentDB.

It really depends on how advanced your complex computations are.  DocumentDB does provide a SQL-like query syntax, but does not yet support aggregate functions like count, sum, and average.  Great to see that you've posted on the DocDB forum, they will be able to give you a much more thorough answer than I.
