New Server 2008 build.
I have just built a new server using 2 quad z's, 12gb ram, and 6 - 2tb HDD is a raid 6 format. When I tri to in stall server 2008 on this, it gets to the last section on completing the installation and will not move any more. I left it like this
for 4 hours one day, thinking that something with 7tb was causing this. Then I finally shut it down. When I started it back up and went back into windows setup, I have a 2tb drive and a 5tb drive on one raid, where is was originally 7tb.
I am assuming there is a limitation on this large of a raid when loading server 2008? or am I looking at a hardware issue.
Thanks.
Chad

Check for the deploying OS boot CD from the server vendor, try to boot with that CD/DVD and select your desired Windows 2008 server for deployment.
It should solve your problem.

I have acutally set up the raid with a 2TB and 3TB drives. I have loaded Server 2008 R2 on the 2TB drive, It still stopped at the end of the installation. I contacted Intel again, and got a rep that said to plug in both of the network ports
to the internet, that this is a glitch with server 2008. I did that and the install finally went through quickly. He also stated to run the updated drivers from Intel. I did these things and it runs great. He stated that
server 2008 could not install correctly on a 7.272TB partition.
Thanks for all your help.
Thank you for your time. Chad.
