New Server 2008 AD setup Sites Question?
We are in the process of migrating from Netware to Windows Servers. I am in a school district with 28 sites connect to an NPLS WAN Cloud with 100mb and 1gig from the NPLS cloud to my district office location. We have started with a pilot school so we currently have a Domain Controller at the district office and the pilot school. I have AD built and am ready for my techs to start adding worksations to the domain. The workstaions are located at the 28 sites. In Jan or Feb we will be deploying a DC to each of the 28 locations. My question is am I going to have issues adding workstations to the 2 DC's I currently have until I get the ones in for the schools. In total it will be about 3000 workstations. Users will be logging into the domain and getting workstation group policies for the DC. I am splitting the subnets upbetween the 2 DC's I have. I just don't want to get a 1000 computers added and then find out it can't handle it. Both DC's are Dual Quad Core system with 4 gig of RAM.

I see no issue of you populating your AD with the added computer accounts other than the replication to the new DCs to be setup could be a tad slower. You could install the DCs in your HQ, have your AD replicated to these DCs then ship them over to the sites.
