Based on the subnet mask, clients A & B are actually on the same subnet as clients C & D. If a router will be used to segment the networks, one of two segments will need to have the IPs changed or subnet mask changed for both segments. A subnet mask of /27 creates this range: 192.168.2.161 - 192.168.2.191. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

...or to simplify connecting the wire plugged in the HUB on the subnet wich has been assigned the 192.168.2.177/27 default gateway to one of the ports of the other HUB which has been assigned the 192.168.2.161/27 default gateway!

Hi all, what do you think about this exercise? See here Brugio2, you cannot seriously post all of your homework on these forums for answers related to getting your classwork done for you. If you want to be serious about Information Technology, perform the research. I could tell you right now, with posts like this, you would not get hired and trusted to manage any networks in the next two years if you dont put some effort and research into what you are studying for. Brugio, The scenario can be resolved a few ways. While the hub to hub connection you suggested would work, it would not be a good design. In reality, based on current technology, both hubs would be removed and replaced by Ethernet switches. The VLAN configuration would depend on factors such as performance and security. I think this question proposed in the scenario is simply looking to see if the respondent can figure out that the network design is incorrect. My recommendation to you is to pick up a good book on TCP/IP. This is the foundation for any network professional. Everything after TCP/IP is basically a wizard consisting of "next, next, finish". To be successful, you MUST have a solid understanding on IP. Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

Mine is called , I don't know if you know this word and if you use it in your job or in you life (I hope for you), confrontation: what other people think about some problems or things. Before asking to the forum, of course, I've made exercises, I've tried to find a solution and I've found a solution. It was just to see other point of view: it's important in the life! and don't worry about my carriere: worry about yours! Regards,

I think ITKB is absolutely right, you need some lessons on TCP IP. I'm not concerned with your career, thats your job. I'm sure you want to know this material, but if your asking for a synopsis answer of each question you have of your workbooks in the TechNet forum, it's not really going to help you if you dont understand the how or why. The idea is to get you to understand why, so you don't have to ask why something is wrong, and make you become the subject matter expert for others.
