Anyone know of a free tool to monitorLAN bandwith\ cisco switches?

hi Itsfun, CISCO is the giant and major stake holder for manufacturing routers, switches and many more things. As you posted in your original query "Cisco Switches" you should be aware of managed switches and unmanaged switch. With managed switches CISCO provides utility to monitor the network bandwidth which might be basic but provides all the important info related to network traffic.If you want to check for a specific client / server then you can use different utilities from microsoft such as a) perfmon which gives you most of the information . To start perform -- start --> run -->perfmon and you can start discovering about the counters and objects for networking. b) For collecting network data in your org , you can also rely on SNMP protocol using the SNMP you can query router as well along with the workstations to get the network traffic. And you have more 3rd party utiliities available in the market which i do not want to comment. sainath !analyze
