Network Diagram?
Hi All, I have been tasked to create a network diagram for one of our clients. The thing is that the client is geographically remote and I have only remote access to their server. I am struggling to think about a way to get their network picture using only their server and create the network diagram but my mind doesnt seems to come up with any good solutions. Any ideas will be of great help? Thanks All.

Hi thanks for the suggestion. I didnt know about such feature in visio really. The problem is, I am not able to find viso enterprise 2000 edition and the version that i have for visio is visio professional 2007. Microsoft seem to have disabled snmp feature in their visio products after 2002. I dont think this feature is there in visio 2010 either. Can you possibly guide me to another (may be open source) software to achieve same? thanks

Also, you can use ADMAP / EXMAP to generate AD and EX topology diagrams: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=cb42fc06-50c7-47ed-a65c-862661742764&displaylang=en&tm Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX Blogs - http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ Articles - http://www.sivarajan.com/publications.html Twitter: @santhosh_sivara - http://twitter.com/santhosh_sivara This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties, and confers no rights.

HI, Thanks for post here. Yes, Autodiscovery feature had no longer supported since Viso 2002 release , you may want to check out the various third-party products that are available, such as LANsurveyor from Neon Software. What happened to the Autodiscovery feature? http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/visio-help/what-happened-to-the-autodiscovery-feature-HA010149325.aspx If you had deployed Active Directory in your environment , then what Santhosh provided might achieve your goal.
