Need tips on how to make a script or scheduled task for automatic collection of server status
I'm looking for ways to make my job of collecting status from different servers easier. This is the case: In the beginning of each month I need to collect the following information from different Windows servers (Win2008, Win2003, and Win2000) that are not in the same domain: *Performance data (I've set up a scheduled performancejob that collect it for me, but have to view it and take out the info manual) *diskusage compared to total disk (manual job) *the 5 latest error and warnings for the month before (manual job) What I'm looking for is a way to get the windows servers to collect all the info for me automatic in one file so that I can reed it from there instead of using a lot of time collecting it myself. And I need to be able to use it on different Windows versions. Tips anyone?

Hi Myme2 Event log part: you can try the event subscription feature, enables you to view events on a single remote computer. For moreinformation please refer the article below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749183.aspx Performance part: I think the Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor are almost meeting your request. But if you sad you try to combine all the data in one file, it seems that you need analyze feature ,how about System Center Operations Manager Hope that's helpful! Thanks for your imput, but it's not what I'm looking for. We're already using Performance collection on the servers, I can't forward anything from the servers (so I need to pick it up manually), and I'm not allowed to introduce anymore programs into the enviroments. I'm more looking for a script that I can schedule once a month that will write 1) Diskspace and 2)start the Performancedata collection to a logfile I've found a way around for the events (make a report from our surveilance program) so I guess I'll just have to collect the rest of the info for my performancereport manually or try to extract more from other sources. :) I'll love to hear what other people are using to making their performance reports thoughe...
