Need some advice
Ok so here is what I have, I have a small office medical office with 4 desktop computers and 1 computer that is going to be designated as a server. I need to run an medical billing software from the server to all 4 desktops, I have Windows Server 2008R2, but I am not sure what is the best way to configure the server or the desktops. These desktops also must have intrenet access as well. Any advice would be great.

First thing I'd do is contact the application vendor to find out if the software is split into a client side / server side arrangement or if you access the frontend via terminal services or something else. Also if it utilizes windows credentials for any part of the software. Regards, Dave Patrick .... Microsoft Certified Professional Microsoft MVP [Windows]

It is accessed via frontend Terminal services or remote desktop and it does not not utilize windows credentials.

I will suggesst you to go with windows small business server edition as you have already mentioned that you will be using a billing software and internet. As a matter of fact Small Business Server edition is bundled with SQL and ISA or FTMG and terminal services , you billing software will need a database like SQL and for internet you might need ISA http://www.microsoft.com/sbs/en/us/default.aspxhttp://www.virmansec.com/blogs/skhairuddin
