Need a little help
I have a Computer on a business network. No other computers have this issue just this one. I can Ping the NIC, Not the default gateway, or anything else on the network. The port appears to be in good shape, the cable is good,
and the network settings are good, i keep a very good IP log. I have also rein-staled the NIC about 3 times, and done your basic troubleshooting, including resetting the router and checking the ports on it as well. I need a little
outside thinking on this, any ideas? the best i can think of right now is due to normal wear and tear my computers deal with its possible the NIC is partly damaged so still able to ping the NIC, and appear to work properly (according to the windows dialog)
link lights are on as well. (Harsh environment for a computer: desert environment about 120-130 daily)

You may have a bad or dirty NIC. Take a good look inside the RJ-45 jack and make sure there is no corrosion or foreign objects that would prohibit electrical connectivity. With the environment you are in, go to your local Radio Shack or
electronics store and pickup some electrical contact cleaner. Power off the PC and clean the Ethernet jack. You would be surprised what can get in there.
