Name resolution fails for specific DNS entry
I'm running DNS on Windows Server 2008 and have started experiencing problems with a particular entry in the Forward Lookup zone. The record(s) related to this problem are as follows: sles001 Host(A) 192.168.1.23 static intranet Host(A) 192.168.1.23 static Both of these records have existed in the zone for quite some time. However, earlier this week the DNS server stopped providing information for the "intranet" entry. I've tried clearing the cache. I've tried changing first one, then the other, to an Alias, but the results remain the same. I get results when I ping the "sles001" entry; I don't get results when I ping the "intranet" entry. Reloading the zone doesn't help, either. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and/or solutions.

Hi, Have you tried enabling diagnostic logging to see if any errors are logged? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc787724%28WS.10%29.aspx -- Mike Burr
