Hi Bhavin, You need to maintain the same profile? This behavior is perfectly normal as if you don't Profile translation using admt the user will logon using his domain account, a new profile will be generated. You created a new Domain using 2008 R2? That is not necessary unless you need to use new domain name. Even we can do a domain rename, but its may create issues if not done properly. What are you trying to achieve? You could have transitioned from 2003 to 2008 R2, with holding the same settings. If you have created another domain and you want to migrate the old users from old domain to new domain, you can use the free microsoft tool ADMT 3.2. Microsoft Guide: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=19188 http://www.sivarajan.com/admt.html Kindly let us know your exact requirement, so that we can assist you better.Regards, Rafic If you found this post helpful, please give it a "Helpful" vote. We were running on Win server 2003, now I have installed Windows server 2008 R2 with new Domain Name. ON each client machine, i need to change domain name, by doing this, i need to backup all the data which is stored on client machines C:\Documents and settings\username.domainname directory, in this case, NTUSER.DAT file need not to backed up. and hence, local settings of each user, e.g. printer default settings, etc. are changed and a new profile has been generated, I need to keep old settings with new domain name. Pls. help. Thanks.
