NTBackup not ending
I've got Server 2003 SP2 and Exchange SP2. One of my scheduled storage group backups failed because the .bks file couldn't be found. However, when I look at c:\windows\tasks, that task still displays "running" and doesn't end when I right-click and select
End Task.
I looked at the task manager and don't see any process associated with that task. When looking at the task manager, I did check the box for "Show processes from all users".
I think that whatever is going on with that is preventing me from getting a good backup of that storage group. When I run another backup (different task), the event log shows that the backup failed and I see event 225 (No log files can be truncated).
How do I fix this? Thanks.

Hello,
for backup questions about Windows server 2003 better use the following forum:

As you said you are making a backup from Exchange maybe also the Exchange server forum is an option:

Hi,
As the error mentioned "<path> is not a valid drive, or you do not have access", is it a tape, a local hard disk or other device?
Please test if it is accessible and check for the permission. If available, you can try to format it (if it is just an empty USB drive).
Meanwhile you can have a test to backup to a local location to see if the issue is related to NTbackup itself.Shaon Shan| TechNet Subscriber Support in forum| If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
