NNTP Servie in Windows Server 2008?
Hello,
Can anybody tell me if I can use the Windows Server 2008 as NNTP-server?
Missed this function in beta 3, so its probably dropped, isn't?
best regards
Dirk

You are correct, NNTP has been dropped from Windows Server 2008 ... at least as far as I know

I apologize for being confused but I'm still seeing MS development of open protocol specifications around NNTP with updates as late as last month (August 2008). Although it's true that both references that I found only reference Windows Server 2000 and 2003, it would seem silly to expend MS development dollars on something that has just disappeared off of the face of the Windows earth. So...the open question is "Where did it go?". Are we supposed to migrate our NNTP support to some 3rd-party application? Is NNTP support being repositioned under some different MS packaging?Any insight that you can offer would be very much appreciated. "It's just gone" is a fairly seriously impactful answer.
