NLB error on Windows 2008R2
Hi, We are using NLB on Windows 2008R2 for Exchange 2010 CAS and HUB. My problem is not related to exchange. I have a software call Quest Software what Archive my email. Their telling me that I'm supose to a net time \\virtualNLB.mydomain.lan and received the time. I have this error: System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found. But my virtual NLB is working ... all my client are connecting to this address, email is received from this address. Their send me a .reg to modify the registry but nothing change. What should be the next step ? I need to received the time when I'm doing net time on my virtual NLB. Also, I'm using multicast since my network don't like unicast. Regards, Marc

Can you ping that FQDN, and if so, have you tred the Net Time on the IP? Have you created a DNS record for your Virtual NLB Hostname? *a

Yes I can ping it. I try the net time on the ip adress and it's not working. Yes I have a dns records for the virtual NLB. We use this for 1500 users to connect to outlook, webmail, email entry and active sync.

Ok, certainly helps to have more details - so, are you able to just open the c$ admin share on that FQDN?*a

Marc, before you can get Net Time, you need to get the device to respond. Besides Ping. With net time, we are talking application layer stuff already so, if you cant get the c$ admin share, then I have to stand on this being a Wins/DNS issue. Assuming you have domain admin rights or local server rights. I stay away from Ent. Admin due to its restricted nature of capabilities. Have you tried creating a host entry and testing?*a
