When creating a NIC team on a Windows Server 2012 R2 server, Microsoft recommends using the Dynamic Load Balancing mode instead of Address Hash. In our data center we have been using Switch Independent for the Teaming mode and Address Hash for the Load balancing mode because the primary NIC is connected to a 1 GB switch and the standby adapter is connected to a 100 MB switch as a temporary failover if the GB switch fails. So if I set the Teaming mode to Switch Independent and the Load balancing mode to Dynamic with that 100 MB NIC in the mix, how will that affect performance and the speed of network traffic? I don't want to have bandwidth issues with that 100 MB NIC in the mix so that's why I have stuck with Address Hash so far. thoughts?
