Ping uses ICMP echo. This can be blocked by firewalls. If your two machines can ping each other, ICMP is not blocked by their firewalls. If you can ping one way but not the other, only one PC firewall is blocking it. If they can ping each other but cannot ping the default gateway, it is the gateway router which is blocking ICMP echo, not the PC. Bill

Hi azzmicrosoft Thanks for posting here. You mentioned you had disabled firewall of PC1 , so could you descript how you disable firewall on windows 7? I suggest to check if it worked with enable ICMP Echo Request for ICMPv4 and ICMPv6 on PC1 Nobody Can Ping My Computer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749323(WS.10).aspx meanwhile, you may like to capture traffic by using network monitor to verify what caused this issue when you ping PC1 from PC2 . http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=983b941d-06cb-4658-b7f6-3088333d062f&displaylang=en Thanks.
