NAT, DNS, DHCP only 1 NIC Windows server 2008
Hi for all, i need help
I have the follow scenario:
2 servers windows 2008 std with 1 NIC each
1 HUGHES 7740s modem with valid ip 187.x.x.x and mask 255.255.255.248. and dns 200.x.x.x
i need set my servers to delivery ip(via dhcp for my clients) in another range(for sample: 10.0.100.x)
i try RRAS, and NAT but without sucess, because with only 1 NIC
very much appreciate the help of someone with a step
by step to configure the internet
access for my clients via DHCP windows 7starter
Obs.: my server access internet normaly with valid ip 187.x.x.x

Hello,
if you want to implement a DHCP server, you have to authorize it using an AD admin account. So, you should have an AD environment.
For RRAS and NAT, you have to buy a second NIC card.

That is not easy with only one NIC. We would need a lot more info about your network setup to advise you on this.
If you only have one NIC, it would have to be used by the client machines in the private network (such as 10.0.100). Your Internet connection would need to be made using something which RRAS can use (such as a demand-dial interface).
If you can't do that, you will need to install a second NIC in the server to run RRAS/NAT. Bill

Thanks for posting here.
If you want to configure server as a gateway for internet connection and will also let it to provide DHCP service for internal networking then two NICs is required
.
Otherwise we have no way to configure with it even if we can bind multiple different IP segment addresses to a single NIC.
