My command will not allow for 2 NTP sources. What am I missing?
Here it the command I am running.
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"crt01anp.xax.net, crt02anp.xax.net" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
When I then do a QUERY it says crt01anp.xax.net, (yes the comma is there)
If I change the command to this
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"crt01anp.xax.net,0x8 crt02anp.xax.net,0x8" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
When I then do a QUERY it says crt02anp.xax.net,0x8
And the last one I have tried is dropping the comma
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"crt01anp.xax.net crt02anp.xax.net" /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
When I then do a QUERY is say crt02anp.xax.net
How do I need to change my command to show both time sources?

Microsoft does recommend that workgroup computers sync from the Microsoft NTP server (time.windows.com). If another time source is desired,
we recommend that you use one of the Stratum 2 Time Servers.
To find the Stratum 2 Time Servers that are available, visit the following Web site:

This is a Domain Controller that other servers on the network will sync to. These servers do no have access to the internet therefore the DC syncs to a source that is setup to have access to get time from outside. I never have a problem with time but I
would like to have some redundancy build in with 2 sources.

Hi,
The third command you are using has proper syntax. What is the command you are using to query? kindly post the output.
w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:PEERS /syncfromflags:manual /reliable:yes /update
Please set for PEERS the time source as listed above, either with its ip address or DNS name. If more then one is needed separate them with a space in between and don't forget the quotes: "time.domain.com time1.domain.com"

Rafic

Hi,
Thank you for the post.
It's normal to show your current sync/working source just one NTP source. To list all configured NTP sources, run command:
w32tm /query /configuration | find "NtpServer"
If there are more inquiries on this issue, please feel free to let us know.
