Multifunction printer on 2008 server x64
I am looking to by a good multifunction printer color laser with fax and scan support (<$800). I want to attach this to a Windows 2008 server x64. I want to be able to use these functions from my windows 7 and max osx workstations. Pefereably this would work through 2008 services for print, fax, and scan. Any recommendations? This forum is dedicated for Windows server 2008 General Questions as a matter of fact your query is much more related on purchasing the hardware which is usually not discussed here the only thing I can help is to guide you to the compatible printer supported by windows 2008 http://www.windowsservercatalog.com/results.aspx?bCatID=1326&cpID=0&avc=10&OR=1http://www.virmansec.com/blogs/skhairuddin

Would suggest you work with Printer vendors. Just make sure that when you select a Printer that the drivers are certified with all the o/s's that you need to print from, this is CRITICAL! -- Paul Bergson MVP - Directory Services MCITP: Enterprise Administrator MCTS, MCT, MCSE, MCSA, Security+, BS CSci 2008, Vista, 2003, 2000 (Early Achiever), NT4 http://www.pbbergs.com Twitter @pbbergs http://blogs.dirteam.com/blogs/paulbergson Please no e-mails, any questions should be posted in the NewsGroup. Thanks for the info. I have been spending a bunch of time trying to get my current multifunction printer working with windows 2008 Server R2 x64. I have set up server roles for Print, FAX, and Scan. However, the fax services documentation speaks about fax modems and doesn't really discuss multifunction printers. Unfortunately the scanner driver with my canon mutlifunction doesn't work under windows server 2008. I have also been spending a bunch of time trying to get a mac workstation to print via LPD with no luck, but I think this may be more to do with the mac printer driver as opposed to 2008 servers' support for LPD. So my thought was to speak to people who have this stuff already working and buy the printer they are using and save myself some headaches. The link you have provided me is a good step in that direction (I appreciate it).Howard Swope Manager of Engineering TTG Media, NAVTEQ USA [http://www.navteq.com] Home [http://www.hms3.com] "Just because you can shove it down port 80 doesn't mean you should."
