Moving a GPO Deployed Package

Recently I had a Domain controller crash on me. I rebuilt the server but now the server has a new name and the deployment packages on it no longer function. I went into ADSIEdit and changed the msiFileList but when the GPO trys to install to a new machine it errors out saying it can't find the location. I followed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2395088 and I saw the pervious post(4 years old at this point). Any suggestions, tips, or ideas in general?

Hi,

Thanks for posting your issue in the forum.

Regarding the current issue, if you want to change the installation path of a software deployed by GPO, I suggest we could try to refer to the following article.

Can I change the distribution path to a Software Installation package?

We could try to choose some of the workaround mentioned in the article to achieve your target.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Andy Qi
