Monitoring AWS with SCOM 2012R2

Hi,

Just installed the AWS MP (2.5.1) on SCOM 2012R2. All credentials have been double checked, but in the Event Log error 4502 is showing up:

A module of type "Amazon.AmazonWebServices.Modules.DiscoveryModules.CustomCloudWatchMetricDiscovery" reported an exception Amazon.SCOM.SDK.Exceptions.AwsManagementPackException: Could not describe regions for default region system name = us-east-1 ---> Amazon.Runtime.AmazonServiceException: A WebException with status SendFailure was thrown. --->....................................

Now the problem might be that I am in Sydney, Australia and not in us-east-1 as mentioned in the text above.

Has anyone had this problem and got a fix for it?

Thx,

John Bradshaw

Turns out that the AWS MP doesn't seem to work outside the US. We tested this by running up a new domain inside the US and installing SCOM and Voila! all our AWS instances were populated.

But back in Oz, the Scom console was blank for AWS.

We have raised a ticket with AWS for a fix.

Thx,

JB
