Missing Windows 2008 security templates
Hi, Before anyone mentions it - yes there is a post regarding this question/issue and no it wasn't helpful / didn't answer the OP question. I am trying the windows 2008 trial version (Version 6.0.6001), enterprise edition. There are no security templates, I cannot use Security Configuration and Analysissnap in as there are no templates to choose from. Any ideas? Regards John

Hi John, We can use Security Configuration Wizard to apply security settings with security templates. Security templates are .inf files located by default in %Systemroot%\security\templates\ We can view the security template settings in the GPMC in the following location: GPO_Name\Computer Configuration\Policies\Windows Settings\Security Settings. For more information about using Security Templates, please refer to: Security Templates How To http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=106530 For Windows Server 2008, that will a good option to create a security template with Security Configuration Wizard, please refer to: Security Watch Using SCW on Windows Server 2008http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc194400.aspx?pr=blog Hope it helps.
