Missing NTLDR after system update of Server 2003
After automatic system updated ran over night, I come in to find the message "NTLDR is missing press ctrl + alt + del to restart" I tried to do a repair installation of windows but same problem. I found the article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320397 that says to request Bcupdate2.exe but I cannot find that file to download it. We are running a Microsoft Small Business Server 2003 installation.

According to the KB, you actually have to contact Microsoft to get it, http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#tab0 -- Mike Burr

Hi ABP Tech , Thanks for post here. If you have not recovery CD ,here is a quick solution for you reference: · Remove system HD out from server box. · Attach this hard disk to another computer ,like desktop or laptop. · Verify if system partition still can be recognized by using disk manager MMC snap-in. · Perform “chkdsk /R <system partition letter>” to check and repair system partition first . · Inset SBS installation disk ,perform the commands below to Copy thest files below from CD to system partition: copy <CD partition letter>:\i386\ntldr <system partition letter>:\ copy <CD partition letter>:\i386\ntdetect.com <system partition letter>:\ Thanks.
