Migrating from FRS to DFS. What about application directory partitions?

Hello Technet community!

I am about to migrate from FRS to DFS in preparation to migrating my DCs to 2012R2.

I was wondering if the application directory partition are also migrated to DFS using the procedure described here:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd640019%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

If the application directory partition is not included, what is the procedure for it?

Thank you!

As you are migrating sysvol from FRS to DFSR refer below links. I will also recommend to take backup of systemstate before you proceed and ensure that health of DC is good and there is no replication issues. You can verify the same by dcdiag and repadmin command.

Application partition is different from FRS/DFSR and there is no need to migrate. You can store DNS zones in the domain or application directory partitions of Active Directory Domain Services. A partition is a data structure in AD DS that distinguishes data for different replication purposes. More on this refer below links
