Migrating PKI CA from 2003 DC to deticated CA 2008 R2 server
We currently run Certificate Services on a 2003 Domain controller. The goal is to run it on a separate server running 2008 R2.
I've read several of the docs and posts so I believe I know the path that I have to take, but they never really address if I have to restore the DB to a 2003 box and then upgrade it to 2008 or if I can bring up a 2008 box and restore the DB straight
to it? Does anyone have any experience with this? Anyone come across any gotchas that I should be aware of?
Thanks for your help!

Hi,
If the source CA OS is Windows Server 2003, we can restore the DB directly on the Windows Server 2008 R2 computer.
