Microsoft error number 0x80072EFD
I get an error 0x80072EFD on a Windows Server 2003 server when I try and run Microsfot updates, I tried sevreral fixes like updating the BITS software, disabled Symantec antivirus, I added all the update.microsoft.com sites to teh trusted list in my web browser. I checked my host file don't have anything microsoft related, flushed dns, I don't have a proxy running. I have 2 other windows 2003 servers on the same network and those update fine.Pete Valiante

Do you configure any settings to block SSL in your environment? As I know, if SSL is blocked by Windows Firewall, you may get the above error. To resolve this, please take the following steps to open the port 443: 1. Open Windows Firewall. 2. On the Exceptions tab, click Add Port. 3. In the Add a Port dialog box, type SSL in the Name box, type 443 in the Port number box, and then click either TCP.
