Microsoft SQL Server 2012 on Windows 2008 Server R2 Standard
I installed a Windows 2008 ServerStandard 64 bits on a server. When I try to install a
Microsoft SQL Server 2012, I got an error like "The O.S. does not comply the system requeriments. For Windows 2008 and Vista I need Service Pack 2".
But I can't find any Service Pack 2 Update for this O.S. I tried to install the update
KB948465 from
http://www.microsoft.com/es-es/download/confirmation.aspx?id=17669 but is not supported for this Windows version.
How I can solve this "issue"?T
Thank you.
Regards.

Hi,
in your question you mentioned two differing versions:
Windows 2008 Server R2 Standard (this requires SP1 for R2
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976932)
Windows 2008 ServerStandard (this requires SP2 and also
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=956250)Don

I tried to install this update but it show me an error:
"This service pack is not aplicable to the Windows version that is running"
When I try to install SQL Server 2012, show me an error with the link
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/ms143506%28SQL.110%29.aspx
But the link says me that's correct:
If you install SQL Server 2012 on a computer with the Windows Vista SP2 or Windows Server 2008 SP2 operating system, you can get the required update from
here.
If you install SQL Server 2012 on a computer with the Windows 7 SP1 or Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 operating system, this update is included.
So, if I have Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and is not required the SP2 for this Windows, and the SQL Server 2012 needs SP2 for this version... Which is correct?

Well, I solved. The problem was that isn't installed Service Pack 1 in the server.
Thank you for all.
