Microsoft-Windows-Diagnosis-DPS/Op erational Error 170
I have Windows Server 2008 with Exchange Server 2007 installed in a VM. Recently, I've noticed a DPS error quite frequently in the event viewer. I'm by no means a pro at any of this. Below is the XML from the error. Any advice is greatly appreciated. <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-Diagnosis-DPS" Guid="{6bba3851-2c7e-4dea-8f54-31e5afd029e3}" /> <EventID>170</EventID> <Version>0</Version> <Level>2</Level> <Task>1</Task> <Opcode>21</Opcode> <Keywords>0x4000000800000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2009-04-07T04:52:28.246Z" /> <EventRecordID>206</EventRecordID> <Correlation ActivityID="{ADDAB4B2-B57F-4406-BBB8-31F986AC760A}" /> <Execution ProcessID="1288" ThreadID="1772" /> <Channel>Microsoft-Windows-Diagnosis-DPS/Operational</Channel> <Computer>CHRISTINA.omniacs.com</Computer> <Security UserID="S-1-5-19" /> </System> - <EventData> <Data Name="ScenarioId">{739FF6CF-5033-428C-9E2F-582096482DD5}</Data> <Data Name="InstanceId">{ADDAB4B2-B57F-4406-BBB8-31F986AC760A}</Data> <Data Name="OriginalActivityId">{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}</Data> <Data Name="DiagnosticModuleImageName">%windir%\system32\radardt.dll</Data> <Data Name="StatusCode">-2147023888</Data> <Data Name="DiagnosticModuleId">{C0F51D84-11B9-4E74-B083-99F11BA2DB0A}</Data> </EventData> </Event> Thank you much,Mike

Neither of the posted responses offer solutions to the problem (unless you consider paying for support a solution). I've already seen both of the mentioned posts. If anyone has experienced and resolved this error before, please offer a suggestion. Thanks,Mike

Hi Mike, Please understand that to troubleshoot this issues, we usually need to perform debugging. However, in this forum, we do not provide debugging support. If you would like to perform debugging, please contact Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS). To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request, please refer to the website listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS If you are outside the US, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com for regional support phone numbers. So, you're telling me there is NO ONE who has experienced a similar problem and can perhaps point me in the right direction without spending a few hundred bucks? I'm not exactly running an enterprise situation - I'm a college kid trying to work through setting up an exchange server (amongst other things). Generally people post on forums to avoid costly expenses.

Hi, Thank you for the reply. As the article said, No resolution is available through configuration of the Diagnostic service and No user action is required to deal with this issue. Does it affect your normal use of the system? If not, you can ignore this error. If you prefer to troubleshoot this issue, I am afraid you have to contact Microsoft Customer Support Service. If you need help to setup up an Exchange Server, you can post a thread in our Exchange Server forum. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/exchangeserver Tim Quan - MSFT
