Hi, If unchecking “maximum memory” cannot fix the issue, please launch Resource Monitor and switch to Memory tab. Please check the memory sizes for Hardware Reserved, In Use, Modified, Standby and Free. If the total memory is still incorrect, please update the BIOS and check if the BIOS detected memory size is right. Thank you Arthur, the resource monitor shows the Hardware Reserved as 8192, In Use as 1426 Modified as 61mb Standby 486 and Free as 6222. Then it shows Available 6716 Cached 553 Total 8192 Installed 16384 So ( trying not to be obtuse here ) does this indicate that this Dell is reserving 8 gigs of memory for hardware use? If so, is there a way I can pinpoint the particular item? Thanks again

Contacted Dell Support, and they insist it is the O/S I am using.

does that server support hardware RAM mirroring? and if so, is it enabled (in the BIOS somewhere)

We have been over the server with a magnifying glass, and have confirmed on many levels that it does not support mirroring, or any of the other tricks of that ilk. Dell released a bios patch fot it on the 31st of May, and I applied that. Still no joy. Thanks for the feedback though.
